Art Nouveau architecture in Riga makes up roughly one third of all buildings in the centre of Riga, making the Latvian capital the city with the highest concentration of Art Nouveau architecture anywhere in the world according to Wikipedia. I have no idea if that is a verified fact but I do know that even in the cold of a Latvian spring (-1 today) it’s a stunning part of town.
Long wide boulevards, ornate colourful buildings. It brings warmth into what would otherwise be quite a grey time of year. Well worth a visit (just bring your warm coats).
