Lost track of what week we are in …but look at this

Cool bridge

So we are so many weeks into the Covid restrictions I’ve stopped counting the weeks. But life is beginning to find a new normal. Having gone from commuting into the big city most days to walking downstairs to work, I’d just about got used to it and then I was made redundant. The challenge has now changed to finding the motivation to do yet another long day, to finding a new job and keeping busy in-between.

So last weekend, we made a plan. We wanted to see the coast and we wanted to walk with sea air against our faces. Living in the Cotswolds we are about as landlocked as it gets….so this was going to need a bit of thought. We absolutely didn’t want to join the thousands of people on the M5 getting down to Cornwall, nor did we want to spend all day driving to get to the South Coast.

Where we landed was the Bristol estuary. Not quite the ocean..but close enough and it gave us a different vista. Best – it was only an hour (wish) drive along pretty good clear roads. Bonus.

When I was looking out at the water, I enjoyed a deep breath and reminded myself that no matter how crappy life appears right now (and lets be honest, for some people it has been incredibly crappy) we do need to keep wading on through. Whilst it can absolutely get worse, it can also get a whole lot better. I then listed all the things that were good for me in life – and it was a pretty great list. Sometimes you need a re-set to remind you what is important. I’ve found my silver lining….I hope you manage to find yours.
