Dubrovnik

It looks like a fairytale city, nestled as it is next to the bluest waters of the Adriatic.

A short flight from London transferred me from a cold wet English “summer” to a city that reminded me of the castles in Disney movies.- with sunshine. Goodbye jumpers and hello t shirts.

Despite its tragic history or perhaps because of it, Dubrovnik is a city that is desperate to please and please it does on any level. Whether you want beaches, restaurants, museums or walking tours this city delivers on every front.

Stunningly beautiful it’s picture postcard material to look at. Any budding photographers will have a field day. There are plenty of restaurants to people watch (and eat) and it’s very easy to travel up and down the coast in any one of a multitude of boats for rent.

Well worth a visit, easy to get to from the uk and a very interesting city to spend a few days in. It’s also impressively clean so if you are fed up of the dirt and rubbish you see on the streets of London- you will love this.
